Porrtl is an employee portal and team communication platform for construction companies. This Privacy Policy explains what information Porrtl ("we," "us," "our") collects, how we use it, and your rights.
This policy applies to the Porrtl mobile app and the porrtl.com website. By using Porrtl, you agree to the practices described here.
Porrtl is sold as a subscription to construction companies ("Subscribers"). Employees of a Subscriber use Porrtl under an account created by that company's administrator.
Your employer is the data controller. If you are an employee using Porrtl, the company that invited you decides what information is collected about you, who can see it, and how long it is retained. Porrtl acts as the data processor — we provide the software and infrastructure, but your employer controls the data.
For questions about your specific data, contact your company's Porrtl administrator. For questions about how the Porrtl platform itself handles data, contact us (see Section 14).

The Porrtl app requests the following permissions only when needed:
You can deny or revoke any of these permissions in your device settings at any time. Porrtl will continue to work; the associated features will simply be unavailable.
Porrtl uses carefully selected infrastructure providers to operate. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual privacy obligations. They do not use your information for their own purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only:
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using AES-256. Access is restricted by role-based permissions and row-level security. We monitor for unauthorized access and review security practices regularly. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you and your employer as required by law.
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as long as your employer remains a Subscriber. When you leave a company, your employer controls whether and when your account data is deleted or anonymized. If your employer cancels their Porrtl subscription, workspace data is retained for up to 90 days and then permanently deleted, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
We may retain aggregated, de-identified data (which cannot be used to identify you) indefinitely for analytics and service improvement.

To exercise these rights, contact your employer's Porrtl administrator first. If you are unable to resolve a request through your administrator, contact us at privacy@porrtl.com and we will help facilitate the request with your employer.
California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of sale — which we do not do.
EU / UK residents (GDPR): The lawful basis for our processing is (a) performance of the contract between you and your employer, (b) our legitimate interest in operating Porrtl, and (c) compliance with legal obligations. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Porrtl is a workplace application. It is not intended for, and we do not knowingly collect information from, individuals under the age of 16. If we become aware that we have collected information from a person under 16, we will delete that information.
Porrtl is operated from the United States. If you use Porrtl from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from your country. By using Porrtl, you consent to that transfer.
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app and by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
